I made it!

Today I did my last ballet class of the term. Most of the students are moving to an improver lesson, and I think I am probably the only one who decided to stay at the introduction level. I think it should be good, but I start wondering whether I would like to take two ballet lessons (plus a contemporary dance class) a week instead of one ballet lesson a week. I really like what I am doing, and I really want to improve too. I also want to eventually do a pointe class, so I think this weekly activity would be necessary.

I know that it is hard to feel not moving into the next level directly. I do think that I have the skills to move into the next level, but for some reasons, I would like to take the time to soilidfy everything before moving to the next level. I made the mistake of rushing myself to the next level a few years ago, and I don’t want this to happen again.

There are mostly only these levels in a ballet studio: beginner, improver, intermediate and general. There is no harm to stay at beginner for another term before moving up to improver, and then intermediate. I also really want to improve my balance and coordination too. I am not most comfortable and confident about this yet.

I guess I need to get used to not rushing my own learning, and find a good balance between working efficiently vs slowly but effectively.
